THE OFFSHORE SUPPORT VESSEL PROJECT
The “Offshore – Support Vessel” turnkey project involved the design, supply and installation of a point-to-point satellite connection for voice/data/fax transmission between an Oil & Gas ship off Brindisi and the client’s management offices in northern Italy.
Given the ship's layout and the position of the satellite system installation, it was necessary to use a double satellite antenna system (with automatic antenna switch during use) to ensure 360° satellite visibility and avoid the obstacles present. Once the installation was completed, and for the entire duration of the service, comprehensive maintenance service was provided, including 24/7 Help Desk assistance and technical intervention on board in case of failure.
The ship was also equipped with a “Sirio” system to provide non-business Internet connectivity to on-board personnel (for the use of smartphones, cell phones and private PCs).
